Katia Porter is an international artist with works in private collections in the UK as well as the USA. Katia moved to Connecticut in 2011 from Manchester in the United Kingdom where she studied fine art at the University of Bolton and Manchester College of Arts and Technology.

UK born artist, Katia Porter maintains an active multidisciplinary practice in visual art and writing.  Her work is truly multi-mixed media incorporating found imagery and her own photography, painting, drawing, collage and text to explore themes of misinformation, injustice, violence, human rights, generational family secrecy, fable, folklore, metaphysics and the occult.

Porter’s most recent body of work which will be on display at SoMA 9/6-10/27, explores displacement and the idea of home. Our opening reception will be hosted on Friday September 6th from 5:30-8:00pm with light refreshments.
